Client: Paylocity
Agency: AV Collective
The Project.
Paylocity is a billion dollar company that most people haven’t heard of. But being a company of that size, they have a lot of photo and video needs and for the longest time they didn’t have anyone to handle that for them. So through AV Collective I handled all their marketing video needs. I did a 20th Anniversary Documentary, flying around the country to interview people. I did customer profiles highlighting how they use Paylocity’s software. I covered meetings, events, showcases, and more. I did so many different things it’d be impossible to even name them all.
The Responsibilities.
- Pre-production & Planning on all projects
- Scripting on many projects
- Creative Direction
- Producing
- Video Capture on Location around the country
- Editing
- Motion Graphics
- Post Production Finalization
- Photography
- Basically everything a marketing department needs for content creation
The Results.
The results are interesting. The marketing team was elevated within the company and video as a format became a very large piece of that team’s work. Paylocity built an internal video team to handle those requests. I passed on being a part of that, but there was an interesting comparison. One year, I went to an event of theirs and handled video/photo capturing of the event, I did same day edits of that b-roll to be played the next morning, and I captured client testimonials in a side room every day. One person, many deliverables. The next year their internal team covered the event and brought… a videographer, a photographer, 2 producers, an on-site editor, a motion graphics person, and me to cover the client testimonials. They had a team of 7 to deliver what I did solo the year before (and with better end results if I do say so myself).
